Parks and Trails

The City of Ladysmith has a number of parks and trails available for public use.  Ladysmith's parks and trails provide recreation areas for residents and tourists that visit the City.  The parks contain a large variety of children's play equipment and many types of recreation as well as pavilions for your next big event.

Ladysmith's trails feature mowed walking paths and a wide range of scenic views through woodland areas and along the Flambeau River.  The trails provide opportunities for hikers, bikers and skiers of all experience levels.  If you are looking for a relaxing walk or a challenging hike, you'll find it in Ladysmith.


Ballfields

A number of baseball & softball fields are located in the City of Ladysmith and are available for public use.  Fields are available on a first come/first served bases, except when in use by organized programs such as Ladysmith Littel League.

Greenwood Park

Walk through a forty-acre forest and smell the wildflowers.  Take a stroll by Greenwood Creek and listen to the birds sing.  With the exception of the scenic hiking trails, this area remains virtually untouched to maintain a natural, aesthetic environment.  The park provides a number of opportunities for nature observation and photography.

Ladysmith Leash-Free Dog Park

The Ladysmith Leash-Free Dog Park provides a fenced area in a residential neighborhood where area residents can bring their dogs for leash-free activities and exercise.

The Ladysmith Skate Park provides ramps and rails on an asphalt surface for use by skateboarders, rollerbladers and bikers.  Stop by and watch the local skaters or give the ramps a try for yourself!

Memorial Park

Come and enjoy Ladysmith's largest full service park.  Take a stroll by the river, visit the Christmas display during December, and attend the Northland Mardi Gras during the 3rd weekend of July.  The park features a wide variety of playground equipment and picnic shelters.  Reserve one of Memorial Park's pavilions for your next family, group or company event.

O.J. Falge Park

Come and take a stroll on the boardwalk.  As Ladysmith's second largest full service park, O.J. Falge offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities.  Come and view the wide variety of wildlife that calls O.J. Falge home, play a few games of volleyball or try your luck at fishing.  While you're in the area, feel free to stop by the Rusk County Community Library to pick up some reading material.

Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park, site of the former Warner Cemetery, is located at the end of W. 5th St. S. Set along the Flambeau River, this park features interpretive signage, gravel pathways, a Soo Line flatcar and benches.  A perfect spot for a relaxing stroll along the Flambeau River.

Reclaimed Flambeau Mine Nature Trails

Reclaimed Flambeau Mine Nature Trails

Built in partnership with the City of Ladysmith, the Reclaimed Flambeau Mine Nature Trails offer 4 miles of beautiful walking, hiking and skiing trails open from dawn to dusk. 

A total of about 10 miles of trails for horseback riders and other non-motorized activities are also available.

Riverview Trail

Riverview Trail & Wagon Bridge Landing

A boat landing and trail provide access for hiking, biking, boating, fishing, nature observation, and photography along the beautiful Flambeau River.  Riverview Trail stretches 1.3 miles along a wooded section of the Flambeau River.  The boat landing, located at the trailhead on County Highway G provides boat access to the Flambeau River for fishing and other recreational activities.  Riverview Trail also provides access to the Industrial Park Ball Fields.

Thut Park

Thut Park

Located on the southeast corner of Ladysmith along the Flambeau River, Thut Park offers horseshe pits and picnic tables.  Ladysmith's smallest park is a great place for a family picnic.
