Worden Avenue Industrial Area
The Worden Avenue Industrial Area was created around 1900 on the east side of the city and originally supported seven different industrial facilities. The area was developed due to its proximity to the Flambeau River and the Soo Line Railroad, which were both essential for the operation of industry. After a few of the smaller industrial operations relocated within the city, the two largest operations were able to expand.
Today the Worden Avenue Industrial Area is home to:
- Weather Shield Manufacturing
- Dunn Paper
This industrial area has rail service provided by the Canadian National Railroad. Natural gas is provided by WE Energies and electric is provided by Xcel Energy. The City of Ladysmith provides water and wastewater utilities to the Worden Avenue Industrial Area.
There are currently no municipally-owned buildings or land available for sale or lease in the Worden Avenue Industrial Area.
